Aerial View from South

Early Aerial view of the Citadel Mound at Mohenjo-daro (looking south), showing the excavations in SD area prior to the work conducted by Wheeler in 1950. A path and stairs lead from the musum campus area to the stupa on the left. The "Great Bath" is seen in the center right and the exposed area of the so-called "Granary" is just to the right of this structure. Long mounds of backdirt can be seen leading to the western edge of the mound. These were later removed by Wheeler when he began excavating the so-called "Granary". "L" Area is in the upper background.
