This section of brickwork shows an area where debris and melted mudbrick slowly accumulated at the base of the wall on the right. Eventually a revetment and capping of fired brick was constructed over the accumulated debris to create a wall or platform that extended into a previously open area. Such construction features are common in the later levels at Mohenjo-daro and indicate encroachment onto streets or public space due to lack of civic control.
